Alamo IMAX Theatre

When “everything is bigger in Texas,” you know the state’s largest film screen is bound to be something to see.

This theater plays “Alamo: The Price of Freedom,” a 1988 IMAX historical film starring Merrill Connally as Davy Crockett. It tells the story of The Alamo in vivid visual detail and, of course, digital surround sound. The screen itself is six stories high, and the surround sound plays at 12,000 watts, while the seats are large and reclined for a comfy history lesson. The theater also plays the latest films and documentaries on its large IMAX screens, some in 3-D. Many choose to see the story of the Alamo come to life on this screen before visiting it in person.
