This tour, which complements the Games of Thrones Tour of the North, departs from a centrally located meeting point and visits some of these great landscapes located south of Belfast.
Tollymore Forest is Ireland’s oldest pine forest. See the very place where the Dire Wolf pups were discovered, and where the White Walker ambush took place. This stunning woodland in the heart of the ancient "Kingdom of Mourne" is most famous for the place the Starks first found their Dire Wolf pups. Other scenes include the mysterious Wildling massacre from episode one. You'll also see Jon and Tyrion’s tree where they discuss life at the Wall.
During lunch you'll get an exclusive chance to meet the Direwolf Family, served in a traditional Irish pub with quality, good value Irish themed food in a private dining room. Here, you will be introduced to the real Dire Wolf pups from the TV show, Thor and Odin, aka Summer and Greywind on the show.
Get a photo sitting on an Iron Throne with the Direwolf family. You and your traveling companions will have the chance to sit on a replica Iron Throne for a photo opportunity and meet and greet with the Direwolf family, key actors in the show.
The Castle Ward estate is an 18th century mansion noted for its unique architecture with its historic farmyard having been used as the location of Winterfell. See the gateway to Winterfell’s court yard, plus over 20 locations portraying Westeros from the Riverlands to battle fields and more. Memorable scenes include Jamie and Briene of Tarth leaving Rob’s camp on their way to Kings Landing. See the notorious twins' home of Lord Walder Frey, Tyrion and Bron's first meeting after their trial in The Eyrie. Even the tree under which King Rob Stark and Tulisa said their wedding vows.
Visit to St Patrick's Grave. No tour would be complete without a visit to the burial site of Ireland's patron saint. Saint Patrick’s Day is observed on 17th March, said to be the date of his death.
Inch Abbey is a large 12th century ruined monastic site an example of early Gothic architecture. In the series, the King in the North, following the news of Eddard Stark’s death, decided to bend the knee to their own Northern King. This is the ruin where King Robb, the "Young Wolf", was crowned King in the North. This is a picturesque place to visit on the tour and the final location.
It’s time to escape back to Belfast and your own world before any more chance of harm befalls you.
