Excellent trip with plenty of time roaming around the places we visited. Our guide, Leigh, was simply fantastic and didn't allow us having one dull moment during the trip. I highly recommend it.

Alex was a very entertaining, knowledgeable tour guide with great Irish pride. Although it rained in Glendalough I still found the cemetary fascinating and the views spectacular on the hike. Kilkenny was a delightful town, could have spent a half day there. We were given a good map with the highlights of what we could choose to visit. I learned a lot of the history of ireland.

A very good daytrip--Glendalough is one of my favorite places in the world and I could spend a week exploring Kilkenny. Our guide Frank managed to be both informative and entertaining, without getting tiresome.

Because there was no scheduled lunch time we only got about an hour or so in Kilkenny so you really need to hustle if you want to see anything. The town is so spread out that we were only able to see the castle and the black abbey and there were truly jogging back to catch the bus. The Wicklow Mountains were incredible.

This trip had ore driving than viewing. Here are some suggestions for improving this worthwhile destination:
Have driver make 1st stop at a facility that offers more than one male/female bathroom, we were let off at a gas station before entering the Wicklow Mts, for coffee and the facilities only to find ONE toilet shared by male and female passengers. We had to wait a very long time in line to use the bathroom. The coffee and snacks available were great!
We were in Glendalough in time for lunch, that would have been a much better place for lunch, as later at Kilkenny, it was closer to 2:30, and we were hungry. There was a very nice hotel at Glendalough, and we could have had lunch there and seem the ruins.
When we got to Kilkenny, which was late in the afternoon, all the tours of the castle were full. If we had the opportunity to sign up for a castle tour ahead of time, and the route was planned accordingly, it would have been a much better day. In Kilkenny we had to have lunch, and then walk around the village for a long time because we couldn't get into the castle. Another thought would be to reverse the direction of the tour so that the first stop is Kilkenny, with castle tour and walk, then driving to Glendalough and St. Kevin's later in the day. I understand that the views through the Wicklow Mts. might be compromised by darkness depending on the season, but at least then the trip a long bus ride wouldn't turn into a shopping trip, as that is not how the tour is presented in the material.
Our driver Frank provided a lot of local color, but it would have been more informative if he were given a script instead of the biased/opinionated commentary he provided us. A bit of this is great, but he had too much!!

This tour was awful. The tour guide was corny, patronizing, and obnoxious. The jerk knows that he and #39;s tone-deaf and insists on and #34;singing and #34; the most stupid Irish songs. Also don and #39;t appreciate the way he perpetuates negative Irish stereotypes by saying things like and #34;that and #39;s why most Irish are alcoholics and #34;.
