This was an amazing trip, the driver was very informative and professional, he was also very friendly. There were just two small issues, the small bus we took was very old and I was not sure it would make it back and forth, it was very shaky to say the least. I think they need to update the vehicles. The other small issue was when we got there, there was a little confusion over the tour guide at the sanctuary.

Fabulous trip - excellent guide. Interesting to see the countryside. Elephants were enchanting though getting in the river with them would surely be a brave and dubious thing to do. Great experience

This is an all day trip which was stated although quite a lot of time is spent travelling on the coach. Not an issue for us although worth a mention as maybe a consideration for others.
Stopped off after about an hour to see the 'aboriginal settlement'. Not at at all what we expected - it was a tiny town with not a lot to see. Although there may have been useful information about it but the guide just left us to look around for an hour or so. Bit disappointing as seemed a wasted opportunity to find out more about local Malaysian life. Guide also tried to suggest we had lunch here which did not go down well as it was only about 10.30am! However we did get to try to the local delicacy of durian fruit which was an experience!!!!!
Then drove to elephant sanctuary which was amazing! Watched a short documentary about the sanctuary and then had lunch which was fine. Saw lots of beautiful elephants and had the opportunity to bathe baby elephants. The elephant keepers were fantastic and although they do this everyday, made it feel like it was special to visitors and were happy to take photos for people. We must have missed it in the event info but we didn't realise that this was definitely included so didn't bring a change of clothes or a towel. Not a problem for my husband who had quick drying shorts and sandals, but I had walking boots and thicker trousers so didn't go in and bathe the elephants. Watching it was still beautiful though as the baby elephants looked like they were having so much fun!
Rated only four stars because the first part of the tour wasn't great and the guide could have been more informative we did several tours in Malaysia and the other guides were all better than excellent. However, I would give 10 stars if I could for the elephant sanctuary!

The drive is loooooong. But once you get to the sanctuary, you'll find the experience worthwhile. It was very fun and educational to learn about and interact with the elephants. The part with the aboriginal settlement feels tacked-on.

Was bit disappointed. Got collected at 9am didn't arrive at elephants sanctuary till 2pm left at 2.50pm. Did stop for lunch at Chinese as apparently problem with where originally going. Meal was lovely given choice and freshly prepared for us.on way there was told by guide that water was too high so wouldn't be able to bathe the elephants. On arrival got video to watch then made way to sanctuary. Were about 6/8elephants to look at and feed. You had to the buy peanuts, bamboo sticks or bananas. Confined in very small space so once done this nothing else to do. Staff then put about ten minute show on with other elephants. Whey hey that was it by. Time to leave. Considering cost not a lot to do. Tea room open and gift shop which did not stock much. They need to provide information posters or pictures of elephants that have been helped, background etc so at least you no a little about the elephants. Names of elephants displayed etc. there is no visual attractions there at all. They are building houses for staff so could maybe provide things for tourists. Elephants were nice to see but again not value for money. Also advertised visit to aboriginal village. You could walk to it from sanctuary. Not very impressive just like any other village you may see. Tour is also lacking giving information leaflets etc to tourists.wouldnt go out of way to do this type of tour again

The sanctuary itself was incredible, the organisation and company who took it was not. Highly recommend going to the sanctuary but booking directly with them, this tour was poorly organised and the guide lacked any enthusiasm.
