Reliable pick-up and bike rental. There is no tour guide, but this is okay since the island is small and easy to navigate

A fantastic day out and tour! I loved the island and wish I could stay longer. The cycling was great, however we didn’t really take advantage of the snorkelling gear.

We were a group three girls in our late 20’s / early 30’s with average fitness levels (maybe slightly lower)

The weather conditions were perfect for cycling. We started off the day with cycling the coast to Cape of York and stopping for a break before heading back using the Defence road, then Digby Drive passing through the lakes.

We had lunch at the Rottnest Lodge. We had a pleasant surprise to find that lunch was included in the tour price as we didn’t realise this before boarding the boat. Brilliant added bonus.
Lunch was very nice. It was a small buffet that was fairly busy which meant that the food was constantly fresh.
The staff were excellent. One waiter bought beef to our table so we didn’t have to wait for it and a waitress took us to an area in the lodge were it was guaranteed to find quokkas as we hadn’t seen them yet.

In the afternoon we cycled to Parker point. This seemed a bit more strenuous which could be because it seemed a little hillier or because we had heaps to eat at lunch.
On the way back we stopped for a quick drink at Hotel Rottnest, which had an awesome outside area that overlooks the water.

The process of collecting and returning the bikes and snorkelling gear was too easy.
Most of the bikes seemed rusty, which isn’t really a surprise considering the amount they get sprayed with salt water of the ferry. My bike made a slight squeaking noise as I cycled, but wasn’t too bad. A lot of the bikes didn’t locked, but by the end of the day no one was locking them anyway.

I loved Rottnest and I would like to stay longer on the island. Definitely worth a visit!
I thought that this tour was a very well organised way to get there.

Rottnest Island is amazing! Due to high tides, we bused from central Perth to Freemantle where we boarded the express boat. The boat ride was uneventful and comfortable. Bicycles were ready on the pier and I quickly embarked on a lovely tour of the island. I believe it's about 18km around and is generally fairly flat. I made a point of stopping at every lookout and point of interest. The day was beautiful, the water was crystal clear and every beach was amazing. The entire ride took approximately3 hours at a very leisurely pace.

Very enjoyable day at Rottnest Island. Ferry from Perth to the island was comfortable and informative- with lots of historical facts and trivia and bike / snorkel rental process was very easy. Island itself has stunning scenery and the beaches are top notch. If riding a bike make sure you take plenty of water with you. Definately one of those experiences that is a "must do" whilst visiting Perth!

Absolutely wonderful! Enjoyed the cycle ride and the excellent view of the beaches.

tour great but not enough time on the island, beware if travelling in their winter months has island closes a 4 pm. lunch option very poor would not take this option again

If you need a tour that is self guided this is the perfect one. Everything is organised for you from ferry tickets to bike and snorkels to lunch, but you can go at it at your own pace. It was perfect for our family who may have moved a bit slower then the average adult. While Rottnest isn’t a cheap day trip, we still loved it for our special family getaway. Its spartan, natural laid back feel from yesteryear instantly induces relaxation. At the same time I felt thoroughly accomplished (and sweaty) after riding a bike for several hours, burning those extra calories. Plus Rottnest has Quokkas, labelled the happiest animal in the world. What’s not to smile about?

great day out, bike not the best but fine for drifting around the island. Ferry air conditioned which was a relief from 40C temp. Would recommend taking own food to avoid high prices in island shops. Beaches gorgeous and well worth paying the extra for snorkel

The bikes aren't in the best shape due to the hordes of tourists using them on a daily basis. Getting around Rottnest is easy enough, but be aware, there are some hills to ride up! Food and beverage is available but naturally prices are high on the island.

It was a great day out for kids and to my surprise I enjoyed it too. The Jet boat wildlife tour was excellent. Our guide on the boat took the trouble to tell us alot about the island and the wildlife and get us as close to the animals as possible without being intrusive. I think a day is not enough to do the island justice but it was a great introduction to the island. The snorkelling off the Basin was not up to expectation only because the water was a bit murky that day. We are Asians and still thoroughly enjoyed the version of "curry " at the lodge. The bikes and snorkelling gear were in excellent condition.

Great fun for my teenage children, the bikes where in good condition and have gears which is handy for the hills. You have to bring your own packed lunch or get it in the restaurants in the town. The Snorkelling was not great as it was a rough day and the sea was muddy. You did the tour on your own with a map given when you get your tickets.

We had a great day. The ferry trip was informative. The push bikes where in good condition. Morning and afternoon tea was basic but did the job and wine tasting was ok. The 20min tour on arrival didnt happen. Organised our own lunch.

it was an enjoyable trip.
the island is huge, it is difficult to have a whole look by biking and will get too tired.
recommend who will go there buy bus ticket to have a look.
the quakka(mice) was not anywhere, can be only see by chance

This was a really great day, the only exception was the bikes - there is no back holder or basket to put items in. This was made OK by the fact there was onsite lockers, however might consider looking in to having some fitted for choice.
Commentary and trip over was amazing, Rottnest Island is lovely and it was a clear day!

Beautiful beaches, nice trip. In the northern part insects are really annoying, however I don't know why but in the southern part there was hardly any to be seen. Recommendation: leave your T-shirt on while snorkeling.
The only negative point with my trip was that lunch was included and one had to take it at 12 pm, which does not make too much sense when you arrive at 11 am, hence only 4 stars.

Nice day, unfortunatley it was raining!!

I wouldn't call this a tour, just a means to book everything at once. The ferry was nice with decent commentary (but it is exactly the same on both legs) Gear was ok, a bit chaotic to collect it at the pier. No walking tour was mentioned. Biking around Rottnest is a must, though! Very enjoyable.

Rottmest island itself was so beautiful. The cruise was ok, it will be better if theres something like biscuits for morning tea, staff wasnt so friendly, and they didnt really announced that afternoon tea or wine tasting is ready. 1 set of snorkel gear were broken, too far away to replaced.

Avaliado por: Sean M , Abril 2016

This was very misleading as there was no tour.
I paid top dollar under the influence I was doing the snorkel tour which is an available option on the island, and when I approached the services they told me my voucher was not included. I would like to know what can be done about this?

picked up way too early. left at the wharf for over an hour in the cold. then told we were on a bus not a boat to freemantle even though everyone expected the boat trip. saw nothing on the way down. got to rottnest. waited ages for a bike. then waited ages for snorkelling gear only to be told in the end we should go to the local shop and get it from there as they weren't using their stuff much. treated like cattle not people. went to the store and had to put money in for snorkelling gear that was already paid for!! late start and then expected back onto the boat at the scheduled time only to be left for ages waiting to leave. got back to freemantle and left the tour fully disgusted. will never book through viator again.

Rottnest Island was beautiful and we had a wonderful day biking around. The tour however was a complete rip off. The "cruise" from perth to fremantle was nonexistent, instead we were crammed onto a bus and then onto a over-booked ferry with no seats. Once on the island we had to wait for over 30mins and line up multiple times to get our bikes and snorkel gear. The Aristos lunch was nowhere close to my expectations or worth the money that we spent. We had no tour guide or instruction through out the day.
