You cannot leave Iceland without snorkeling, or diving, the Sifra Fissure. It's the only place to see the amazing rock formations and crystal clear water so deep you cannot see the bottom at some points. Ok, so it's a little challenging to get suited up in the elements, but the staff are awesome. It is an adventure not everyone can claim. Go for it!
The cave was good, but more challenging for this mature traveler to get around in limited light on steady rocks.
It was a great trip that Saga our guide made funny, relaxing, and completely worth our efforts.

This was such an amazing experience! Our guide for the caving was so informative and gave us such a great experience!
The snorkelling was phanominal! It was cold as we did this at the end of November. I believe they said the water was reading at about 2C but well worth the experience and your given the proper equipment to do this anyways! The crew for the snorkelling were well trained and provided a great adventure for those of us who were first timers!
Do not leave Iceland without experiencing these adventures!!

We were BLOWN AWAY!! The cave hike was amazing! It is a little cold and wet...I definitely recommend water proof pants and jacket, and gloves, but you do get sweaty because there are sections where you have to crawl. The cave never gets to a point where you can't get through though-the guide is really great and explains each section of the cave before you enter.
After the cave, you drive to another location and Snorkel where two tectonic plates are coming apart. It's an incredible experience. When you're putting on the gear you might think it's not worth it, but it totally is. The only part of your body that gets cold in the water is your chin! After about 5 min though, you're used to it and you can enjoy the amazing clear water. I thought I might need a swimsuit, but you don't! Just some leggings and a tshirt to wear under the gear.
Last, bring a lunch!! They only stop at a gas station-no food stops.

I highly recommend this company for this tour. We used other tour companies for the rest of our travel in Iceland and wish we had used these guys for everything. They were friendlier and more knowledgeable than other tour companies we used. Also, the group was small by design so we didn't have the headaches that go along with larger tour groups.

Amazing day trip! Our tour guide, Oliver, was great! I enjoyed the cave more than I would have expected. Snorkeling was fun too but for all the preparation it takes, it didn't seem like we were in the water all that long. And it was my first time doing that kind of snorkeling so I was a little uncomfortable with all the gear/equipment and worrying about leaks and such. But it worked out quite well. It makes me want to pursue scuba diving! The water was so beautiful. I love being able to say I've been between the North American and Eurasian plates!

Really wonderful experience. The tour guide was helpful and informative and even added some local stories! The cave was great and not too challenging. Snorkeling was incredible, just be prepared for being stuffed into a dry suit!

Absolutely fantastic. Richard was a fun guide and made us feel very safe both in the dark cave and freezing water!

By far the most unique experience yet. Standing in the moss covered lava field and surrounded by dormant volcanoes is a site like no other. It had snowed the day before, so the contrasting white to the greens, yellows, browns and blacks just added to the spectacular vista. We were pleasantly surprised by the level of activity required to explore the lava cave. It is not an extreme activity, but it's not a walk in the park, either. Oskar was our host for the day. He is very professional and kind with a good sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the regions he escorted us through. Richard and Norris were our hosts in Silfra. These are two men who really enjoy their work. They were very proficient at sizing us up, outfitting us and getting us into our gear. They are very funny and kind and they made us feel completely at ease before getting into the water. Once in the water, we were encouraged take our time and to savor the experience for as long as we liked. Any pictures you see of snorkeling in Silfa are true to likeness. The colors and clarity of water are truly something to behold. This excursion is worth your consideration. It's a full, action-packed day spending much more time out of the vehicle than in it.

Worth every penny! This was one of the highlights of my trip. Before I went I thought that it was kind of expensive, but after the day was over I realized it really wasn't. The water is unbelievablely clear and even though the water is cold I never once felt cold myself. Absolutely AMAZING!!!!

This tour was fun, a little bit challenging, and a great way to see parts of Iceland beyond your usual bus tour.
Juan was a great guide - he picked us up from our hotel promptly and took us straight to the National Park to snorkel with the other guests in the small tour. Getting suited up in the dry suits was a bit of a long process, but Richard and Juan explained everything and made sure everyone was comfortable before going in the water. They both had some great tips for how to deal with the cold and where to look to see the best views underwater. I've never seen water that clear or felt it that cold!!, and saying you snorkeled in the continental divide is pretty awesome.
After a brief lunch stop, we were off to the lava tubes on the other side of Reykjavik - Juan told us all about how they were formed, helped us through the tight spots in the tunnels, and made it a fun experience with a few stories. The lava tubes were fascinating to see up close, and this was one of the more authentic caving experiences I've seen.

It was amazing!! it is a life time experience. Before the tour I was scared that I was going to freeze my soul and get sick (I did it during the winter), but the dry suit really keeps you warm. The guides are amazing, they are really professionals and know what they are doing. I really had a fantastic time, I'm so glad I decided to do it, and I would recommend it to everybody.

This tour, with Arctic Adventures, was a truly amazing adventure. With very knowledgeable and friendly guides we walked through a lava tube and then went snorkeling in Silfra in a fissure with one of the clearest waters in the world. Getting into a dry suit is not easy but definitely worth the effort!

Fabulous tour and highly recommend even during winter. Was the first time I snorkelled in a dry suite and apart for my hands and face going numb due to the 2 degrees water. The experience of snorkelling in the clearest water I have ever seen was amazing. Was the highlight of my Iceland trip.

Anticipating the full eco-adventure event, this tour delivered 5 stars. The staff were very knowledgeable of the area/history and displayed a high level of expertise/safety in coordinating the snorkeling and lava tube cave exploration. Both events need a moderate level of fitness. I am 60 years old and my wife is 53. My wife had never put on a dry suit, but the staff went over and above to assist and made sure the "old folks of the group" enjoyed the tour to its fullest. The lava tube exploration was superb and experiencing "total blackout darkness" in the middle of the cave was something I will never forget. We will return to Iceland to further our experience of this country.

Snorkeling in Silfra is definitely one of the most exciting things I've ever done!
Walking through the lava tube cave was fine, but it was pretty tame.
We spent the morning driving to the cave, walking through the short cave and checking out some of the Iceland scenery. It was a super windy day, so instead of a picnic we ate lunch in the van as we drove to Silfra. The sandwich was amazingly tasty!
Once at Silfra we stripped down to our skivvies, or leggings and t-shirts (guys outside, gals in the van - no changing rooms in the parking lot). Then we put on cozy "teddy bear" suits, which were basically like children's snow-suits, a big one piece down suit. Then the diving socks, then the dry suit with built on boots goes over everything. Hilarious watching everyone put these on, they can be a small struggle - with the rubber cuffs at the wrists and neck to keep the water out. Then the diving head piece and gloves. The suit, especially the rubber neck lightly squeezing your throat can be a tiny claustrophobic, but you get used to it before you get to the water, so it's ok.
Finally with flippers and snorkel mask in hand we walked to the waters edge, climbed down metal stairs and began floating effortlessly on the glacier water.
Basically only the skin around your mouth is exposed to the water, which goes numb very quickly - so the 50 minutes in the cold water is not uncomfortable at all.
The visibility is incredible and the colors are stunning!
After we got out of the water and walked a short way - we had an opportunity to jump off a little cliff into the water - a total rush!
Such an exciting thing to float between two continents!

My family (all adults) loved this outing. I especially appreciated the careful and sensitive way we were treated, since we were all absolute beginners. The staff were well informed and helpful, ensuring that everything went smoothly. This is what we come to Iceland for: experiencing the unique geography. I will say that I am quite out of shape, so I found the cave exploring to be a bit of a challenge - but it simply meant that I had to go a bit slower. Good hiking shoes a must for the cave; there are loose and slippery rocks and boulders. For snorkeling: my street clothes were bone dry inside the dry-suit, didn't even need the extra change of clothes, but I may have been lucky.
