Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel was fantastic. The room and facilities were very clean and comfortable. We had a great breakfast and even better dinners every night of our stay. The chefs were amazing and the pastry chef even more amazing: the desserts were world class. The tours were excellent too. The High Adventure truly gave us great views of lakes and vistas that will always be remembere. The Ten Lake Tour was excellent too. My wife and I were very happy with the time we spent in the Lake District and we felt the cost was well worth it.

We did two tours with Mountain Goat - the High Adventure, which is fantastic visit off the beaten track and into the Fells Mountains/Hills, and the Ten Lakes Spectacular. Both tours were absolutely fantastic and well worth the expense. It is full day tours in a modern comfortable van with a very accomplished driver/guide. Not all of this terrain especially up and down the Fells is for the inexperienced driver/car. The scenary is stunning, and both tours took us round the area seeing a lot of sight you are chanced to miss if you're on your own. The tours were very well designed and you will also find time on your own a couple of time throughout the day, with numerous chance to get out of the bus to experience the scenary, little quirky places, a mini-railroad, a castle, the roman ruins etc. The commentary of the tours was also top notch, with a excellent blend of fact and annecdotes, historic and contemporary, serious and humerous, and I have to point out that our driver/guides on either tour Phil on High Adventure and Lisa on Ten Lakes were simply outstanding. Thanks to them we had a great day, and we felt in safe and capable hands through-out. The journey we did with Mountain goat included pick-up to and from the train station and the hotel. Finally we were also extremely happy at staying at the Lindeth Howe country hotel. It located just outside of town which means that it very peaceful and quite. The hotel was a distinct country feel and the area is great. Rooms are nice and big - not super new, but nor should they be in a country hotel. The star of Lindeth Howe is their service and the restaurant. Service is high at all times, and if you are a foodie you will definitely want to go to the restaurant, which caters for adults no children for dinner. Every night you are asked to come 15 prior to your booking for a appetizer in the bar while you select food and wine from the daily menu, before being shown to you table when dinner is served.

The two day trips were a great introduction to the lakes district. A large area was covered with gifted guides with lots of local knowledge. I'm planning my next trip back to complete some of the splendid walks. My accommodation was excellent: the staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean and comfortable. The stand out component of my stay was the 3 course meal served each night. It was innovative and delicious, a job well done

This was a wonderful, and unforgettable trip. The Lindeth Howe Hotel was quite charming, the food was wonderful. The staff from the Mountain Goat, the travel service which took me on my daily tours were knowledgeable and adept at navigating the narrow roads. This is a good tour for the single traveller.

This trip was well worth every penny. As a first time solo traveller I was nervous about joining a tour and staying in a hotel on my own. But all my fears were put to rest from the moment I arrived. The hotel was fantastic. My room had superb views, was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The tours were fascinating, the tour guides were interesting, amusing and just generally great. I cannot sing high enough praises for everyone involved who all contributed towards making my holiday one that I will not forget in a long time. Even the delightful waitress in the hotel restaurant. I arranged at the last minute to go on an additional tour and this was arranged without any problems as well

Hotel was good although staff, with some exceptions, were not very well trained, unsmiling and some with poor English.
Tours were excellent with an outstanding guide from Mountain Goat called Derek. He was knowledgeable, friendly and amusing. Content of tours was also very good.

Great hotel with efficient staff and really good dinners. I was given the Westmorland Suite and that was fantastic! No mini fridge but otherwise really excellent. 2 full day Mountain Goat tours were interesting. Staff in the Windermere office were very helpful. Overall I enjoyed my trip - better weather would have made things perfect. I can't pin this disappointment on anyone so would definitely recommend this tour to people in the UK and abroad.

Excellent hotel! The service was excellent as well! The trip could improve to match what is expected from the title. The guides could perhaps be better prepared!

the tour for the 2 days was good. however, the hotel itself on its own is lovely but the room 201 they put us in was an attic room and small - cant imagine anyone calling it a superior room. we asked for a change of room but was decline even when guests have checked out on the 2nd and 3 rd nights- when i go back dont think i want to stay despite dinner served was good.......
