Joy was my tour guide and we had fun! The tour began on time and Joy was filled with knowledge about Athens and the history of Greece. We had to disembark and walk up to Acropolis because the streets were closed, due to a dignitary being in town. Joy made the walk fun, interesting and it felt like a high school field trip! After viewing Acropolis, we went to the museum and Joy's history lesson was impressive! I think the museum was my favorite activity that day because Joy shared so much knowledge that I did not know - and wouldn't have known but for a local sharing it. The trip to Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion was also a fun and learning experience (Joy wasn't the tour guide for that portion of the trip) but I had a great time their as well!
If you have limited time in Athens, but still want to see the beautiful history and site of it, this tour is for you! You will have enough time to enjoy the sites and experience them, while learning the beautiful myths around them. The guide were extremely kind and knowledgeable. Great value and Content! Enjoy! :
The Athens sightseeing part of the trip was quite frustrating. The pick up from our hotel to the bus where we were going to use for the tour took almost an hour. We were quite frustrated to find out that the tour bus was only a few blocks from our hotel - so we wasted an hour first thing in the morning. Then it took 25 minutes for people to pay for their tours on the tour bus before we could leave on the tour. When we arrived at the Acropolis, our tour guide (who was very nice) told long stories that took too much time to tell. It made our time to visit the ruins very tight. Enjoyed the visit to the museum. The trip to Cape Sounion was very nice. Beautiful drive and fantastic ruins (although a very small area). The tour guide to Cape Sounion was very good and the information was given in a timely manner. Our time to walk around and take photos was perfect.
This is actually 2 different tours priced as one. Both guides were very excellent. They were knowledgeable and friendly (like most Greeks). The museum before going to the ruins was great. It really helps you understand more what you're looking at when you get up to the top. And the drive to Cape Sounion was gorgeous!! So many beautiful beach towns that I would like to go back and spend more time in. Overall, it was a long day but well worth it. Just be prepared for big crowds around the Acropolis.
We lucked out on the day of our tour because it rained on and off that day and we missed the storms each time. Cape Sounion is a must see destination in my opinion. The views were breathtaking and our tour guide was very informative.
You spend most of your time in the Acropolis Museum or outside listening to the guide. Hardly any time is given to find just the right photo. There was less than 1 hr to find a place to eat and eat lunch in between tours. The afternoon was nice and the timing was better. Pick up and drop off worked out great.
VERY RUSHED AT THE MAIN SITE! So much so that we decided to pay another 20 Euros a ticket per person 3 of us! and go back on our own the last day when we had not schedule anything...getting up there with the huge bus took a lot of time, and then they allotted an hour and a half for lunch before the second half of the tour, which was a waste given that we had SO little time at the Acropolis. SUGGESTION: schedule the museum tour first, then take the group to the Acropolis, and end the first half of the tour there for those who want to stay longer. Regroup at a specified time and place for the second half like you did. The trip to Cape Sunion was long, but the temple and the surrounding sites are impressive in the historical context.
