Nossa viagem a Delfos foi bem organizada e extremamente informativa. Obrigada!
We took this tour on July 8th. We were the first to be picked-up at our hotel about 7:30 am and we returned about 6:00 pm that evening. The overall trip was great. It’s a long drive out after they collected all the other guest around Athens, but it was a pleasant drive and certainly worth the wait. The guide used the bus travel time to explain the mythology and history associated to the site and region. It was a great way to understand what we were about to see. A single stop on the way out to grab a coffee/stretch your legs for maybe 20 minutes at a roadside coffee stop. At Delphi the bus dropped us off at the main area and we enjoyed a guided walking tour, followed by some free time to take pictures, or walk up further, and then we ended the visit with a guided tour in the museum. Our guide did a great job in all aspects. We used our free time to walk around and get some great pictures. I think we had about 45~50 minutes to ourselves before we had to meet up in the museum. When we left Delhi we went for lunch in the local town to Hotel Amalia . Meal was local cuisine and fine. Some on our tour group elected to skip the lunch and instead had the time to walk around the Delphi village. I think the lunch was the better option as the town is pretty much closed during summer months with a few local tourist stores open. When we continued back we did have a break in Parnassos which really is a ski village so not too many stores open in summer, plus it was Sunday. Maybe in the winter months this would be better. I think we could have skipped this stop since it really was only 15 minutes after we started our drive back to Athens. We returned back to Athens about 6pm and very glad we went out to see the Oracle of Delphi.
The day trip to Delphi was most enjoyable and informative.
The guide was clear and knowledgeable. He paced the walking reasonably for all in the group.
A walking stick would be helpful for those with difficulty climbing the hill and negotiating rough paths.
The guide was also excellent in the museum and surprised everyone at the end with the famous
Charioteer bronze. Well done.
The trip to Delphi was well worth it. It is absolutely beautiful and you can feel the history of the site. Since I was traveling solo I didn't necessarily feel comfortable booking a taxi or taking the bus so I purchased this tour trip from Viator which ended up being through Chat Tours. Pick up from my hotel was prompt although it was a little hectic once we got to their headquarters location. To quite honest, I wasn't a huge fan of our tour guide in the sense that I felt that I wasn't getting as much pertinent information about the ruins and pieces within the museum. In addition, the whole thing felt quite rushed. For 6 hours of total travel to and from Athens, we only stayed for maybe 2 hours. I chose the non-lunch option because I'd heard about a great restaurant in the little town named Taverna Vakchos and it did not disappoint. Great food for a good price and the view is amazing. Another reason I was glad I didn't chose the lunch option, I had time to stop in the shops and get souvenirs which I'm not sure if people who selected the lunch option got to do. I had a great time in Delphi despite a few minor things.
Our guide was knowledgable but spoke very quickly trying to get info out to the group.
It felt very rushed and sad that we were not able to climb to top where stadium and track were located. Possibly the delay was due to traffic getting out of Athens and left us with very little time.
I wish there had been more time for questions .
The landscapes were breath-taking and the history rich! It was a must-see for anyone spending time in Athens.
A good-albeit-long tour up to Delphi with a knowledgeable and charismatic guide. Delphi is - to be honest - a bit on the dull side, but it's a nice tour run well, and a good chance to see Greece's inland. Our one recommendation is to skip the included lunch and go to Ταβέρνα Βάκχος, which was the absolute highlight of our trip!
My sister and I had a wonderful experience on this trip. It was very easy to book, a good price, and very convenient. The trip was very well organized, our tour guide, Joy, was very funny and knowledgeable, and told us some great stories we would have not heard otherwise. Definitely worth it if you're looking for a great day trip outside of Athens. We did not opt to get the lunch but the bus dropped us off right outside a cute little restaurant in a beautiful little town that we ate at and then they picked us back up before heading back to Athens. Highly recommended if you're in Athens for more than a few days and want to experience the Greek countryside and an amazing historical site.
