We were warmly greeted by our guide. He got us to the train on time and was there to greet when we got back. The train ride was a wonderful experience of singing and laughter. The salt mines was very interesting how ever we never understood a word the guide said but the mine was impressive on its own. There was plenty of time for nice lunch in a Mexican restaurant. All in all was fun day
The train was fun but it was the slowest train in the world. It wasn’t a steam train either. I think Sunday is steam train day. On Saturday we had a diesel. When you get to Zipaquirá buses take you on to cathedral (buy Tix on the train). After tour bus takes u back to train. Very brief at Cathedral
Enjoyable enough but if you don't book the Salt Cathedral tour you're going to have a lot of time on your hands. The train in the image is not the one pulling the carriages so forget that. Zipaquira main square is lovely but outside of that there's not much. Train stops for two hours at Cajica. Even less there. Maybe half an hour and you've seen all there is to see.Enjoyed the trip through the Colombian countryside, though.
We were picked up and dropped off from our hotel promptly. Our drivers were very courteous, friendly and safe. We enjoyed the train ride and seeing the Colombian countryside. We hope that in the future, the tourist train company would have better instructions on meeting times/trip. We thought that we were catching the train back from Zipaquira to Cajica. We ended up rushing to the bus meeting point only to find out that we had one more hour because we were taking the bus instead of the train to Cajica.
