From beginning to end, this trip was perfect. It delivered all it promised and gave me an inside look into Langa township, a visit to the the museum, and finally a wonderful visit to Robben Island and the story of Mandela. Just wonderful. I highly recommend this tour for any independent traveler to Cape Town.

The first half of this tour was excellent!! I was a bit disappointed in the trip to Robben Island itself because you do not really get to see much you are on the bus around the island then you go to the prison. It is a great point of history but not much to look at.

This tour was amazing!

The township tour, district 6 museum and Malay area parts of the tour were great. Our guide was good, friendly and informative. Unfortunately, the part of the tour which was my main reason I took this tour and the one thing I really wanted to experience in Capetown, the trip to Robben Island, was cancelled due to high winds the ferry was cancelled . We found this out while we were on the tour. I couldn't make new arrangements as I was leaving the next day on tour. We were told we could be reimbursed for this portion of the tour, but I've been ill the 2 months I've been home from Africa.

Loved it! Very comprehensive tour of Walk to Freedom and Robben Island. Only problem was confirming pick up times with the local guide. I had to make several phone calls and there was no confirmation. Driver/tour guide came to pick me up half hour before I was ready. Thanks to hotel staff, they told him to come back for me. I was ready sitting at restaurant, but I had no idea at what time he was coming. He picked up other guests at 7am and they didn't even had time to brush their hairs or eat breakfast. On the other hand, we ended waiting 45 minutes for another guest that could not be found or didn't show up. There needs to be communication ahead of time and confirmed times of arrival. Other than that the tour was great. Prepare to cry at the Apartheid museum.

An excellent trip, with a visit to the District 6 museum about the area that was cleared of blacks to make room for whites, the Langa Township where they were settled very welcoming to us, helped by the fact that some of the tour costs goes to the community, and Robbin Island, where Mandela was imprisoned. A very full and informative day!

The tour itself was good, once I was actually on it. Beware that it is not actually viator that offer this tour. They outsource it to another company, whom it seems then outsource it again to another company. I had an email saying that I was getting picked up at 730 but wasn't actually picked up until 0905 and that was after spending money phoning an international number to try and chase things up. Not a good first impression.

The tour company told me that the guide would pick me up at 07:30. However, he was told to pick me up at 08:30. For me, he was an hour late. This was a lousy first impression. The tour of the district 6 museum and the district 6 community center were excellent. The tour of the living quarters was way too long. There was not enough time to eat lunch and were at the end of the line for the ferry. We had to take the lunches with us on the ferry to Robben Island.

The tour of Robben Island was excellent but was very rushed due to the ferry's late arrival at Robben Island. I would recommend this tour but suggest an on-time pick-up and cutting the community walk and home visit by at least a half. The tour guide was excellent.

Great tour. Filled with history. Got to see Mandela's cell. I wish there were just one or two more chances to hop off the bus to look around. Still a great tour!

I was disappointed that the township visit was eliminated from this tour. The guide said they quit doing it a month ago because of the risk. I could have done a township tour with another company but booked this because it included Robben Island, I wish I would have known in advance that this critical piece was no longer included. They substituted a trip to the slavery museum but that was not the same. Ishmael as a guide was very good and attentive to everyone's needs. Robben Island was very good.
