This tour EXCEEDED my expectations. I had never done an organized tour, but needed to show my mom a lot or Ireland in only a few days. This was absolutely the way to go! Strongly recommend. You see so much and you have time in all of the places you go.

The tour was excellent. Accommodations, timing, information were perfect. Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and personal. He negotiated the narrow, windy roads with ease. The people on the trip were friendly and inclusive. I appreciated that as a solo traveler.

This was an awesome tour! We fit a lot of towns and villages into the 4 days. The b and b's that we stayed at were also very good. Our driver, Freddie, was also great! He had some funny stories and he pointed out the sights we might have missed from the bus. He was hilarious and had the entire bus laughing!

Everything was great. We will do this again.

Our guide, Brian, was great. We got a taste of south west Ireland without having to drive on those roads! However . . . the literature made it sound like we actually visited some places where we only had a chance to photograph from the road. Ashford and Dungaire Castles I would have liked more free time in the places we did stop - we only had a short time to walk in the Burrens because another tour member specially requested we go back and get off the bus. It was raining at the time but hadn't been raining when we originally drove past without stopping. We skipped the photo stop at Bunratty Castle. From the literature I assumed the jaunting cart ride at Killarney National Park was included in the price but we had to pay separately. At Dingle we had to choose between taking the boat ride or visiting the shops - not enough time for both. Some people ate lunch first and did not have enough time to do the boat ride. At Blarney we only had enough time to either explore the gardens OR kiss the stone - didn't even have time for lunch at the site. Could easily have spent longer at the Cliffs of Moher. I felt like we were hurried along so that we'd get to our evening stop before traffic increased - would have preferred to spend more time AT our stops and less time at our overnight spots.

We booked a 4 day 3 night tour of Southwest Ireland through Viator. Paddywagon Tours are budget tours, and this has its pluses and minuses. On the plus side, costs are reasonable. One the minus, youll definitely notice that corners are cut. The tour was conducted on a standard full size bus, with nearly all seats occupied, with a driver who also acted as our tour guide. He was competent and cheerful, but at times overloaded not his fault, he was doing two peoples jobs.

Paddywagon saves costs by combining and intermingling tours our tour had, at various times, folks from 1,3,5, and 6 day tours. Some folks signed up for overnighting at hostels, others for B and Bs. We had 3 nights, and quality of the B and Bs varied. All our rooms were clean, but as one would expect, the rooms were small. We were promised private en suite bathrooms for two nights we had these, for the third the bathroom was off a common hall next to our room, which is less private than promised. Other than the lack of a bathroom off the bedroom, the third B and B was pleasant the Irish couple that ran it were some of the nicest people you could imagine and the view quite lovely.

Our bus was nearly full, and Paddywagon used 4-6 B and Bs each night for our tour members. Between this and the fact that folks from different tours we intermingled, there was a lot of down time while the driver drove from one B and B to another dropping off tour goers, and we often had to wait for the bus. This was annoying, but the nature of the beast. It did substantially reduce the time available for sightseeing, though.

The bus was modern with good air conditioning, but the seats seemed closer together than usual this may have been my imagination but things were cramped.

There were a few extra cost items not mentioned when we signed up. One event was a concert, the Celtic Steps, in Killarney, which was 27.50 Euros/person we signed up and this was well worth it, the concert was a highlight of the trip. Highly recommended. Another was a boat ride at the Cliffs of Moher. This was 15 Euros per person. We signed up, and this was a mistake it was the low point of the trip. The boat was small, and the water rough a number of us were uncomfortable, and a few truly sea sick. Further, the views from the boat were hardly worth it the standard viewing site on the cliffs themselves offered a far better experience. Paddywagon should skip the boat ride and have the bus proceed elsewhere.

We had been promised twice over the phone by Paddywagon employees that when the tour was over, we would be dropped off at or near our hotel in Dublin which is also near the pick-up site for the start of the tour. They reneged on this, and dropped us off some miles from our hotel, we had to take a taxi at our expense.

While Ireland is incredibly beautiful, the tour itself was so-so there was a lot of driving, which was expected, but some of the stops were much too short. For example, we stopped in the beautiful village of Adare, but only had 15 minutes more time would have been better.

This is the price of all the time wasted driving between B and Bs and figuring out who to drop off where and organizing luggage. Most of the stops were made were worthwhile, except for the last one: the Guinness factory tour. This is one of the most popular tourist sites in Dublin, which is difficult to understand. The tour is a disappointment. Its held in a dedicated museum building, but about the only useful exhibit is the bar on the top story where you get a free pint of beer. The views of Dublin are great, and Guinness is a fine beer, but its probably best served in a pub. The Guinness tour is basically a two hour advertisement.

At most stops, we were on our own. In Galway, we got a fine walking tour from our driver/guide, but otherwise we were left on our own. A major disappointment was Blarney Castle. We had 90 minutes for the visit. I went straight to the castle, but the line was long. I waited on line for about 40 minutes, but when I reach the interior spiral staircase which leads to the famous Blarney Stone, I had to turn back, for fear of missing my deadline to return to the bus. Once you start on the spiral staircase, I was told there was no room to turn around.

So There were no disasters, the tour fit our schedule, and the price was modest. Our driver/guide knew how to drive a bus, and knew his way around. But the tour is definitely economy class. Next time, Ill fork over some more money, and move up a notch.

This tour was all that it was advertised to be. The tour went to a variety of locations. The overnight stays were in a nice variety of cities, and villages. The lodgings were great all were very clean with great breakfasts. Our driver, Freddie was humorous and informative. We would definitely use Paddywagon Tours and Viator again.
