This was a fun way to experience Italian food with kids... getting your hands dirty and filling your belly with good food. Niccolo and Martina I hope I got that right did a great job demonstrating and also providing little tips for making our pizzas at home even better.
We took the pizza and gelato making class during our recent trip to Florence. We had a great experience. The instructor was very patient and helpful. Everything was well organized and easy to follow along in spite of the fact my sons didn’t have a lot of cooking experience. My two teenage sons absolutely loved the class. In fact, they both said it was the best part of our trip. Our instructor even gave us tips on what to look for when buying gelato at a gelateria. I also liked the fact that the class wasn’t too large making it a more intimate setting.I highly recommend this as a fun hands-on activity to do with the family.
I traveled with a group of 16 high school students from the USA to Florence. We took the pizza and gelato class on one of our first nights and the kids loved it! At the end of the week, many of the students said this was there favorite event/dinner of the week. Fun, informative, hands-on literally and a great way to combine an activity and a meal.
Fun experience, great for families. However it's way overpriced... the quality of ingredients is not great, the class is with at least 30 other people, and you really feel the 'assembly line' effect. Lacks a feeling of authenticity.
Our group enjoyed this experience thoroughly. Chef David met us in the city centre and lead us to the school kitchen where we met two additional chefs. All three were very professional but also very personable. They were informative, patient, helpful and funny all afternoon. Each person made a pizza from scratch and all of them were delicious. We will definitely do this activity again.
