Descubra Sintra, antiga residência dos reis portugueses, classificada como Patrimônio da Humanidade pela UNESCO, fora de Lisboa, em nossa excursão privada. Depois do almoço, veremos os destaques de Lisboa.
I enjoyed this trip quite a lot. I was alone so it was nice to be able to book a private tour at not a crazy price. Because it was a private tour, the itinerary was quite flexible and the guide sorry I forgot your name! kept checking in with me on what I wanted or not wanted to do. The tour started with him picking me up in the morning at my hotel. We then proceeded to drive to Sintra. At Sintra, we proceeded directly to the Pena Palace where we spent quite a bit of time. It was very crowded but we managed to make good time. My guide was awesome and he knew the history very well and could answer all my questions. After that, we went to the National Palace where he dropped me off and gave me 30 mins to explore. I could either explore the National Palace or go shopping around the city. I chose to go to the National Palace myself while he drove around with the van. Because of traffic, he could not park and join me which I thought was a little weird but, it was okay. After that, we stopped at a place for lunch. Since it was just the two of us, I offered that we should have lunch together and I was happy to pay for it. We went to a place where we could sit outdoors. It was quiet and really nice. After lunch, we drove back to Lisbon. He actually took the road by the coast so that I could see the sights by the coast. We then arrived at the Monastery of Jeronimos in Belem. There, we went to explore the church and also the cloisters together. We spent quite some time there. After that, we walked to Pasteis de Belem to have the little custard tarts or Pasteis de Nata. It was very crowded but we managed to get a table and service was quick. After that, we kind of drove around and he took me back to the hotel and our tour ended at 5pm. To be honest, I felt like there was probably much more that we could have seen, but I think he could tell that I was a relaxed and lazy traveller and toned the tour down a bit. I still think that I got enough for the value. Do note that all the entrance fees including the Pena Palace, National Palace, Monastery, was not included in the tour price and I had to pay along the way. This was clearly stated on the terms so I was fine with it. Overall, if you only have one day and want a private tour, this is a good option. I did enjoy myself very much.
