A great day out seeing the sights of the Best of the West in Madeira. Gama (nickname) was our guide for the day and was exceptionally concerned for our safety and took good care of us. It would have been nice to have had some more time at Cabo Girao and Ribeira Brava, otherwise it was a great day to see what Madeira has to offer.
Another excellent day out this time with Gama, a fun guy and very knowledgeable. Rain and low cloud in the mountains rather spoilt the views we were looking forward to seeing, a shame as the sun never seems to stop shining in Funchal. Worth the trip if you like small villages, an abundance of flowers and you have no fear of narrow roads and hair-pin bends.
In general, a good way to see a large part of the island. But overall, the minivans used are small and uncomfortable. We also stumbled upon a mixed English and Portuguese guided tour, which was annoying to follow. Especially when there is a 1-2 min gap between one of the versions and the objects described by the guide.
Viators!!! As always, well organised easy to book full day value!!! Weather wasnt great but who can improve the weather. Guide was well informed and altered the route to suit the adverse rainy cloudy day. All in all, weather apart, a lovely excursion.
