The bus part of the tour was somewhat bland. The tour guide was good (Ryan) but there is only so much you can do with this route. Also, for the graveyard stop - that was too long and the Beignet stop was too short. It would help if the guide announced the stops at the beginning of the tour and that we only had one bathroom stop and that we needed to take advantage of that stop. We had a little girl that did not and her parents insisted they let them off because she had to go to the bathroom,. even though we had just had a bathroom stop. So if the bathroom stop which was the beignet stop could be longer that would help. Also, make sure everyone is on same time,. We had stragglers that delayed us and I think they were from a different time zone and did not understand.
It was okay the reason why I said that is because we got really excited to be on the boat but one thing they did wrong was over booked because they have a wedding on the boat and it took up half of the space. Not only did the took up the space when it was time to eat they took an hour and a half to finally seat us we could not eat because as soon as we sat down to eat we pulled into the dock so no food for us and omg was it smelling sooooooo Goood!!!. But the sightseeing was very nice but that day oh wow was it very cold but lol so yes I would have to say Good But Not Great maybe next time..
Our bus tour and trip with the Natchez Steamboat was totally awesome. Our guide Jude was great, very informative. The food, on board, was delicious! Our experience in New Orleans was memorable. Oh the beignets were to die for!
Booked this tour 9 months in advance, The tour part of the French Quarter was very interesting, but was disappointed that when we had finished the first part of the tour we then had to wait in line with all the people who had purchased tickets for the steamboat that day. As we only arrived back late and then queued, there were no seats available on the steamboat so we had to stand for 2 hours, we felt they had over booked the number of passengers, and that the booked full tour people should have had priority boarding. We were glad we had not booked the meal on board, the dining room was cramped and stuffy, i dread to think what it would be like in warmer weather. Overall i would not say dont go on the trip but maybe do one or the other not both together, we had no option due to timing.
The tour bus driver made the trip interesting. He was funny, very friendly, and non-stop talking for over 2 hours. However, the Steamboat Cruise wasn't too exciting. It cruised just up/down the river and I wasn't impress. It was a good decision not to purchase with the meal package.
