Awesome! Great tour guide well known in wine circles and author. Wines were good. But, if you are red wine drinker, this may not be for you. The region is know for their white wines. I had a very enjoyable day. And lunch was delicious!
It was one of the best experience we had in Hungary. Our guide Thomas was smart and caring. We exchanged may good conversations and it made the trip special.
Each of the 3 wine tastings was special in a different way. They chose so well. The homemade lunch at a small winery was really tasty. We dined at a Michelin-starred Bock Bistro, but this lunch was 200 times better than the famous Bistro. Everything was homemade and tasted wonderful!
The scenery around Tokaj was beautiful and we wished we could stay there a few days.
This was an amazing day. Our guide was Robert and he was very knowledgeable about both wine and Hungary. The wineries we visited were very different from each other, but both had equally great wine - I ended up buying a bottle to take back with me from each of the wineries. Going down into the wine cellars is such a site. You can just see the history and how old the cellars are. I would recommend this Tokaj wine tasting day trip to all wine lovers.
The entire experience was awesome. We did this on our last full day in Hungary as part of our anniversary and were not disappointed. I was not a white wine fan until I had this tour and now my palette has expanded. Our ride was on time and our tour guide Gyorgy was awesome. While not typical for the tours, we had a gentleman named Robert join us who was observing as he is expected to be doing similar tours with the company he was an absolute delight to have with us. Every vineyard we went to was unique and worth visiting. The vineyard guides were knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely enthusiastic about their wines. Lunch for us included homemade soup, roast duck, a macaroni dish, and dessert. Not in that order though there was no lack of food and we were plenty full. While eating lunch we were presented with various wines to taste. I would not change anything about the experience, the conversations were genuine, the knowledge was vast among our guides especially from our main host Gyorgy and Robert. It is worth every penny. The views were breath taking, and the wines were memorable.
