Our small group ended up just being my daughter and I. Our guide on the drive to Pisa/Florence provided great history of the area. We had a short time in Pisa, but enough to see the area. Our guide booked a great lunch spot for us in Florence. After lunch the local tour guide met us at our restaurant and walked us around Florence. This guy was amazing! The best tour guide I have ever had. His passion for the museum and art such as the statue of David was contagious. He had a great knowledge of Florence walking us through key points of the city. One last stop on the way home for spectacular views of Florence and then dropped off at our hotel. This is a long day, but it is packed with so many amazing things to see. We loved every minute of it!! You will not be let down by this trip.
Very awesome trip! Was able to see Pisa and the buildings associated with it in the square. Not a lot of time however for pictures and you must be very quick as we only stayed there for about 40 minutes total. Felt a little rushed but the site was amazing!! Florence was again awesome and seeing
The driver drove so fast we were literally bouncing back and forth in the back of the van. We stopped at a rest stop and purchased snacks but when we got back in the van we were told there was no eating allowed. In Pisa the tour guide stayed with us the whole time and we had 5 minutes to take pictures at the end of the leaning tower. We really needed some free time. In Florence we were dropped off at a stinky market and were told we could eat in there or at this other restaurant across the street. We were then taken to the museum to see the Statue of David and other sites.
Again we were with a tour guide the entire time in Florence. Everyone says Florence is beautiful but what we saw was not impressive. At the end we met back with the original tour guide. There were people missing from one of the other groups and had to stand and wait half an hour or more until they showed up. They were in an entirely different van so there really was no reason for us to be made to wait for them. Again - no free time on our own to browse.
The guide that was assigned to our group for the day was not licensed so they could not talk to us about the attractions while we were onsite and the trip ended up taking longer than the estimated time that was provided. We would definitely suggest opting for a trip that includes the train as opposed to this tour.
over all the tour was good and informative. It was me and my husband plus a family of 4. The tour guide was very attentive. However, I would have given it a 5 star but it seems like the tour guide was more attentive to the need of the the family rather than us. The tour was strictly for sight seeing and not for shopping and she assisted the family to shop while we follow the other tour guide who was trying to figure out if he should wait or start the tour without them. In the end we had to wait for them and wasted a good 30 minutes in one spot. This was not a private tour for them to do their shopping. They were not mindful of other people that was with them and the lady tour guide let it happen. The mother of the family was also upright rude for taking my sit in the van. We were first to get in the van so we had the front row near the window and by the second stop over she decided to take my sit.
Our driver and guide were really helpful, friendly and knowledgable. On the drive over and back they made a short stop so we could use the restrooms or grab some coffee and or a snack. Our guide provided commentary on the way over about the history of Italy and the regions as well as small ancient towns we passed on the way to Pisa. Pisa was beautiful but I wish they would extend the visit there by 30-45 minutes. You get about an hour there. Which is a quick run through of the town and barely enough time to really take in the sites. We ate lunch in Florence. It was a great local restaurant that did not disappoint. After lunch we started our 2 hour city tour of Florence with another guide. We saw the David, the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio and the Ponte Vecchio. Then when the city tour concludes they take you to the Michelangelo lookout which gives you a magnificent view of the entire city. The only thing I wish they would add is the Palazzo Capponi, which I was hoping to see. Not a deal breaker at all as it was still a really good tour.
