Unforgettable experience and great fun! Our driver and sous-chef Marco Farnetti was friendly, very kind, a great cook, and made us laugh throughout the day. Our excellent chef, Eliza, was a brilliant teacher and told wonderful stories about the food we were making and traditional life in Italy. We prepared spinach ricotta ravioli, red sauce fettuccine, cavatelli with sausage and broccolini, potato pizza amazing!, volcano chocolate cake, all served with wonderful wine and birthday champagne. We all took part in making a yards-long pasta for ravioli, learned how to make cavatelli, and laughed at our neophyte confusion as the beautiful meal came together. What seemed confusing and impossible turned into a lovely, delicious meal. This was one of our best days in Italy. For those looking for an easy and fun day trip outside of Rome, this is perfect! This was one of our most favorite experiences from our trip to Italy. Our chef, Elisa, was amazing - not only was she great with the food but she had a wonderful personality and we laughed throughout the entire adventure. Also, her helper Roy was awesome - from driving us out to Mazzano, to helping prepare the meal, to also keeping everyone laughing. It was fun to go to the various markets to select the ingredients for the meal and Elisa definitely included us in the decision making, she seemed capable of taking anything we might be interested in and making a great dish from it. There we eight of us and the apartment that the company uses for the cooking lesson was a great size and we all felt very comfortable. We were back in Rome at the end of a two-week trip and this was absolutely the perfect way to end the trip, I can't recommend Elisa, Roy, or this adventure enough - thank you!
Hi, I booked this tour to have an interactive cooking experience with my Mum and sisters. The day was fabulous and Elise and Roy were really great - very helpful and professional all day so we really enjoyed it. There a few things I would like to point out though and that is the image you advertise for the location - it is not where the lessons are held but about 11KM away and not on the route to and from Rome for the event. This is rather shady advertising and even though it did not impact on the cooking aspect of the day, the location does build expectations as it is a very unique location. Also, I would recommend that all of the items cooked are demonstrated to the group as there were a few items cooked when we were sitting at the dining table which we would have liked to see in practice. Other than that - we had a great time and the tour is well worth the experience.
This will go down as a highlight of our trip to Rome. As it happened, there were three no shows for the tour which left my wife and I with a private tour. We definitely lucked out. After the approximately 45 minute drive to the country, we met our chef in the local town to acquire the ingredients for our cooking lesson. The apartment maintained by the tour company was quaint and wonderful with a fully equipped kitchen and dining room to sample our newly acquired skills. Our lesson commenced around 10:30 and included making pizza as an appetizer and veal prosciutto as a main course. And no Italian cooking class would be complete without being introduced to the art of pasta making. After consuming our creations we headed back to Rome mid afternoon. Am sure we dozed off for a few minutes on route.
All in all, a wonderful day.
Our guide/cook was amazing! My fiance and I had such a great time!!! It was us and one other couple who showed up later on. I loved seeing the countryside and us going with the cook to pick up all the groceries for dinner in the small completely unique town. The little house we cooked in was so adorable and had amazing views! I loved learning and being able to make all the recipes and wow sooo much food and all of it was insanely delicious!! Definitely want to do this again if we ever come back to Rome!

After about a 45 minute ride in a comfortable shuttle bus, we arrived at the idyllic town of Mazzano Romano and met our chef/guide, Elisa. She took us along with her as we went into three little shops for fresh ingredients for our menu. We then ventured to the apartment which was apparently built in about 1300 AD, where Alisa guided us in how to make: a simple pizza prepared three ways potatoes, red onions, mozzarella with tomatoes, veal saltimbocca, ravioli stuffed with ricotta/spinach, gnocchi with prosciutto and sweet pepper sauce, fettuccine with delicious homemade tomato based pasta sauce, and a dark chocolate lava cake. Elisa choose the menu with our preferences in mind as well as freshness of produce. We left very satisfied with full bellies and an eagerness to try out the recipes at home!
My wife and I celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary while we participated in this wonderful event. It was a bit of a ride to Mazzano Romano, but it was worth it for the beautiful view from the apartment where our chef led the eight guest in our cooking class. Prior to arriving there, we shopped at the local butcher shop and market. With supplies in tow, we walked up to the beautiful apartment where the chef and her assistant first showed us how to make a simple pizza with various toppings and then several tricks for making pasta several different ways, All the activities were supported with many laughs and plenty of wine. We sat together for a multi-course feast with more wine and laughter. We napped on on the ride back with full bellies and a great memory.
