If you have never been kayaking before it is a good first experience. However, the Bio luminescent part was definitely overrated and nothing like the advertisements. Also our guides were a little pushy and sarcastic.

We had a blast- the tour guides were super knowledgeable and fun, and the tour was adventurous and scenic through the mangroves, and the teeny little bioluminescent babies were magical- I would definitely do this again!
The only issue we had was that in general, several tour groups use the same river/entry-way, and on our way back, against current, in pitch black, there were several other tours heading out opposite direction, they were cruising with the current and slamming into our returning tour group as they weren't very well organized. It created a bit of chaos, but I am not sure there's any way for Glass Bottom to avoid this, as many companies/groups offer tours here. Just a heads up to people so they aren't surprised by this.

The guides were nice and funny. However, the company assigns the time you go. The 6 p.m. tour starts while it is still daylight, but you're told that it will be dark on the lagoon. It's not. So, they group your kayaks and put you under a tarp to see the bioluminescence. Then, you're rushed back through the mangrove so they can get to their 8 p.m. tour. Not at all worth the or time investment.

The kayaking tour was an amazing experience. We actually did a full day with ziplining, El Yunque rainforest tour, and the kayaking. Will do again next year!

Mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, it's a unique experience, you'll be paddling a kayak in total darkness and I mean it, you cannot see your hand. The pictures are deceiving, it's not daylight, it's nightime - and for most of the time you'll be under thick mangrove canopy, where zero light comes in. After 20 minutes when finally come out of the mangroves you'll be amazed at how much difference the light from stars make! OK, the bioluminescent part... Nothing like what you've seen on movies or pictures. It's not water glowing when you disturb the water, it's more like 10 fireflies in the water, like sparkles, and that's it. I don't know, maybe it was the season and there weren't many of these microorganisms in the water, maybe it's pollution or whatever, but this was completely underwhelming. You'll say oh cool and that's it. No wows there. So go for the adventure, paddling in total, ultimate darkness for the most part, following a faint light ring from the boat at the front, and trying to avoid pileups with other kayaks which happens, but don't expect much from glowing waters at the end.

the bus ride was very crowded and the tour started an hour late. Very hard to navigate the kayaks in the dark, need a small LED light on each kayak so you can see to paddle. Tour was unorganized at the start, guides need better communication with people on tour while paddling. Only part of tour enjoyable was paddling in the bioluminescent bay. Would not recommend tour to people who have never done kayaking, beginners on tour totally disrupted the tour .

The guides were extremely funny and helpful. They helped us navigate our kayak to the bay. Couldn't do it without them.

I'm glad my boyfriend and I signed up for this, It was cool to see it once but the pictures online are not really how it looks. Please don't get me wrong it was just as cool. It looked like fireflys/Very bright sparkly water underneath you. Definitely do the glass kayaks!! That is the BEST way to go. The guides were amazing. I wish I remembered their names. Wear deep woods off spray and cheap flip flops. Other than that the bay was gorgeous it was for all types, families, kids, adults and more. THIS WAS A MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE. You shouldn't pass this up! Great price and we didn't have to schedule a pick up. Very stress free excursion.

The guides were the best! They kept everything safe and gave us the best service, we were able to see the bio organisms even when it was a cooler season.
