Awesome! Gorgeous water. We got to see several Humboldt penguins and other species of birds. Mick the guide was fun, safety-minded, and informative. I would recommend beach-side lunch at Los Coirones. We ended the day with a visit to the alpaca farm which was amazing.
My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience with Mick this tour. He picked us up promptly from our hotel and drove us out to the coast. On the way there, Mick told us about all the landscape of Chile and what we were seeing. When we arrived at the beach, Mick carried down the paddle boards and made sure we were comfortable before getting into the water. He filmed the whole encounter and took pictures for us with the penguins. I would recommend this excursion to anyone wanting to see penguins near Santiago!! Mick is also extremely knowledgeable about local wines and I wish I could have gone on his Wine Safari.
This overall was an outstanding experience. I highly recommend this tour for a number of reasons. Mick could not have been a kinder and more professional guide. This was a truly personal tour, just two of us, and it was well worth every penny. We were greeted at our Airbnb with a smile and passionate enthusiasm for the day ahead. Pastries from a local store as well as juices were provided at pickup. Although we were very tired and slept most of the way, the day began on a great note and that never changed. After arriving, we were given instruction on what to expect, and we both felt extremely comfortable and well prepared prior to getting in the water. When the tour guide is as excited about the day as you are, then you know you can't go wrong! The island was beautiful - filled with wildlife, the weather was perfect, and we enjoyed every minute. After a good bit of time on the water, we returned to land to enjoy a wonderful lunch - home-made chicken and cous cous and my personal favorite, some of the best ceviche I have ever eaten prepared with fish from a local market by family of Mick's girlfriend. In many ways, this did not feel like an excursion, or a tour, it felt like a group of old friends getting together for a day of enjoying beautiful weather, the ocean, nature, some laughs, and some great food. We had our fair share of questions about the island, the area, and Chile in general. Mick could not have been more grateful in sharing his passion and knowledge. If I find myself back in the Santiago area, I fully intend on checking out one of his other tours. This is highly recommended!
