If you are in this part of Chile, don't miss Valparaiso and Vina del Mar(which is far less well known) The hills of Valparaiso, and the house paintings are like no other place. And Vina del Mar is an interesting opposite. Don't miss the Flower Clock and the original statue from Easter Island. My complaints about this particular tour: We were ushered into a restaurant at Vina del Mar where the guides ate for nothing. It would have been far better if we were taken to an area with a selection of restaurants and been able to make a choice. Also, this tour gets tourists from all over the city (without using a central meeting place), and as a result we spent an inordinate amount of time picking up and returning fellow tour members to their hotels. The trip through Santiago took an hour and a half, coupled with the guide playing an unfortunate choice of music over the speaker system. She also displayed several dance moves. Thoroughly unprofessional!
Valparaiso and Vina del Mar are must see places when you are in Chile. Tour guide was great, funny and knowledgeable. We had amazing lunch at our own expense at a restaurant right on the ocean and it was worth any money! Food was perfect! Very well organized tour with time to take pictures and small groups.
Not the best tour I have taken...and just happened to be our first tour with Viator. The Tour Guides English was OK and it never seemed to us that he is into leading this trip. It got really boring as the day passed and after a couple hours we just lost interest in what he was trying to say. Some of our friends took the same trip with the Hotel, and apparently it was much more detail and interesting we came to know. One suggestion - If you Do Not Know Spanish, try to stick with a tour group that doesnt speak Spanish. Since half of our tour were Spanish speaking, the tour guide spent more time explaining the scenarios to them and we were kinda left aside. May be they can improve with the selection of the guide in future?
