Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The Danube River Cruise was interesting especially going through the first set of locks, an additional plus was the fact that you could dine whilst enjoying your cruise. The staff were very efficient. We also really enjoyed our dining experience at the palace, a lovely meal was presented to us by very pleasant staff. The highlight of the evening being the evening concert this was really very good even though we are both not really classical music people, we found the combination of people playing and other people entertaining us on stage a really enjoyable experience. Well done to the conductor who was also an entertainer himself involving the audience to participate. A really enjoyable day and a good balance of Viennese culture.
The only negative was having to go to the palace orangery first to pick up the tickets and then having to get to the pick-up point for the river cruise and then back to the orangery.
We had the most wonderful evening! The Danube, dinner at the palace and music that was delightful! I would do it again! Our waiter, Philip was incredible. He was so attentive even though the entire place was buzzing with people and activity. Very polite and so thoughtful. The musicians were true professionals and never missed a beat and the conductor was world class.
The logistics of this package is very difficult. You should be able to pick your tickets up at least the day before. The cruise on the Danube was very boring, in fact, we got off on the first stop. The dinner was very average. The concert was very good. I would recommend just the going to the concert
The cruise was very nice and relaxing. The dinner was excellent. The concert was fabulous. but be prepared to walk a long way to the Palace and back again to the concert hall. I would recommend this combo trip to anyone.
A wonderful day!! 3 hour river cruise with some great refreshments on board. Lovely 3 course dinner at Schonbrunn followed by a delightful concert in the Main Hall of the palace. I am not a classical music fan and the Strauss section was better for me than the Mozart.
My daughter and I would do it all again if/when we go back to Vienna.
The concert and dinner were fantastic and something you should do while in Vienna. The river cruise was a little boring. It was 3 hours of mainly the Danube Canal with not a lot to see..... it was hot and boring. If we knew what it was like before we went we would have somehow made the cruise half the time....Is that possible....I don't know!!!!
We enjoyed both parts of this package ,the boat cruise through the Danube canal and river gave good views of Vienna . The concert was very good , the dinner was ok but no choice of menu . The only downside to buying this package is that you have to pick up your tickets at the concert location and that means an extra trip out to Schonbrun at the start of the day at your own expense which takes about an hour round trip before you go to the boat dock . I would think that with the volume of people doing this tour and the sophistication of booking software that the two events could coordinate themselves so that one could pick up the tickets at the boat dock and start the day there.
This was a very rainy day in Vienna. This was the best most of the day activity: boat ride noisy but we got to see lost of the Danube, Schonbrunn Palace castle dinner, and concert the concert could have been better, but it was just OK. They even included subway fare and we spent the entire day....without getting wet!
